This paper investigates the campaign that occurred after dozens of Asian students were brutally attacked by mostly Black students in an act of racial violence at South Philadelphia High School. Using a critical race framework and ethnographic methods, the goal of this project is to understand how Asian American students were able to build a political movement for safer schools and push for more student voice in school policy decisions. The narratives from this research study not only give voice to a marginalized community’s history, but also examine the power of transformational resistance of Asian American students.
