The summative scoring, based on the CTT model is often used to score the academic tests or survey instruments because of its simpler mathematical analysis compared to modern test theory, especially in a small sample size setting. The literature is clear about the limitation of the CTT and how Rasch measurement can overcome the limitation of the CTT with added benefits. The purpose of this study is primarily to validate, analyze, and score academic tests using the Rasch measurement model this study describes step by step procedures to conduct Rasch analysis, examining data fit to the model, and generating Rasch-based scores which can be easily applied and replicated for any classroom setting where dichotomous text is administered.
