This case study investigates a data driven approach in a Master of Education foundation research course that was recently transitioned online. The course aims to teach students how to read and evaluate peer reviewed research studies with critical eyes. The impact of using data from the first online delivery to enhance the future one was minor for Knowledge gain reflected by students’ scores. A large standard deviation raises possible new questions to be studied. The influence was clear on the level of course satisfaction reflected in the SIR results. This paper suggests that it is not whether online delivery is of good quality and academic rigor, but rather how we could and should use data to enhance future deliveries.
