In this paper, we theorize some of the pedagogical tensions we have experienced teaching a preservice elementary teacher education course entitled "Social Class, Education, and Pedagogy"--in an attempt to open up some of the complexities and contradictions of living out social class-sensitive pedagogy (Colleague & Author, 2013) as it is enmeshed with other social markers of difference, race and gender in particular, in insurrectionist times. These tensions have left us with a larger question of for whom teacher education is designed and how that design contributes to the reproduction of a majority white, middle class, woman teaching force.
