A case study was adopted to investigate one physical education pre-service teacher's (PST's) experience of learning to teach Sport Education (SE) as part of a physical education teacher education (PETE) program and while teaching in a school setting. The study was carried out in the PST's final four semesters of a three-year undergraduate PETE program. The PST's learning experience was composed of four PETE courses (two content courses and two school placements). Data included in-depth interviews, focus group and coursework. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings report that learning to teach SE is a comprehensive process that requires various and situated teaching and learning experiences in which PSTs are challenged to reflect and discuss teaching and learning.
