A Development of a World Music Educational Website Checklist and Its Interrater Reliability

Mon, May 1, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 207 A

Abstract

We develop a world music educational website checklist to provide criteria for evaluating educational websites for world musics. The checklist was developed based on the "4Cs design model (Barnd & Yu, 2002)," which consists of Content, Control, Consistency, and Corroboration. For the content validity, music education professors whose expertise in world musics were asked to review and provide comments on the items. For the reliability of the developed checklist, experts who are Korean culture bearers with a music education graduate degree and K-12 teaching experiences will be asked to view a researcher-developed Korean music website and rate on a 7-likert scale for the evaluation of each item. Both internal consistency and interrater reliability will be reported at the conference.
