Abstract

This study aims to examine the psychometric quality of the extended version of My teacher questionnaire to measure students’ perceptions of teachers’ teaching quality. The data were collected from 1,480 beginning teachers from 179 secondary schools in the Netherlands. One-parameter logistic model (Rasch model) was used. Results revealed that the extended version of My teacher questionnaire is a reliable measure of teaching quality from student perspectives. The whole set of 41 items appear to meet the requirements of the Rasch model sufficiently. Subsequently, this extended version can be used for diagnostic and evaluative feedback purposes to support the development of teachers’ teaching quality.
