Abstract

Our exploratory research within the largest and most diverse school board in Canada details the first few years of implementation of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) K-12 STEM Strategy. Our study involved 80 teachers, 50 administrators, 10 STEM coaches and 439 students in 60 STEM pilot schools in TDSB, situated in Ontario, Canada. This study focused on STEM coaching model and examined certain effects on teaching and learning using a longitudinal mixed-methods research design. Herein we include truncated results from the year one STEM implementation via hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) and partial year two quantitative and qualitative data.
