This paper examines a new method of narrative representation of immigrant teachers in New York City’s public school system as they reveal cultural disconnections by navigating in between two cultural realities through their pedagogical practices. By using testimonios, and merging qualitative methodological western and indigenous paradigms, the author finds spaces for a particular group of teachers creating possibilities of cultural flexibility in U.S. classrooms.
