Abstract

This study investigates the development, composition and functioning of the Cultural Institutions for Teacher Education (CITE) partnership, a unique collaboration between one urban university teacher preparation program and the six cultural institutions that have been intentionally integrated as core partners. Research questions guiding this study are concentrated on understanding the CITE partnership and on identifying characteristics that contribute to successful, sustainable university-cultural institution partnerships centered on initial teacher preparation. Findings will be informative to other formal and informal teacher educators and researchers engaged in similar partnership-building work and research
