Educating children in post-conflict schools is deemed crucial in ensuring the well being of children who have been subject to the atrocities of civil war. This paper specifically focuses on the aspect of learning as experienced by youth in post-conflict settings. To this end, this paper examines a complex array of factors that meditate learning and how these factors shape youth dispositions as learners. Youth participants in this study offer their perspectives by taking into account their troubled educational trajectories.In considering the distinctive activity of learning in post conflict school settings, this paper frames learning as a situated experience.This analysis examines factors which mediate learning within the community that enhances or restrains a student opportunities to be successful.
