Through the use of testimonios and Critical Race Theory, the authors reflect and contextualize the ways in which researchers and school administrators working with Latina/o students can better meet the needs growth Latina/o communities. Our positions in many ways stood in opposition with one another (White male school administrator and a Puerto Rican former staff member who is now a faculty member at a R1 institution), but we met at the middle to engage in meaningful dialogue and action to create effective consejos for white educators serving Latina/o youth. Here we reflect in our individual and shared experiences in working with, and at times against, predominately white teachers and administrators, while working towards equity for Latina/o students.
