This investigation applies a recently developed online text visualization system, GIKS (Graphical Interface of Knowledge Structure), to capture, visually represent, and compare the knowledge structure (KS) of Grade 10 physics lesson texts and students’ summary texts. In this investigation, we use the KS network graphs as remedial feedback for student’s physics text comprehension. To appraise the validity of the KS network graph, this investigation examined the changes in students’ KS following reflection on their own KS and the referent KS (lesson text), in comparison with different types of remedial feedbacks, multiple-choice questions, and video instruction, commonly used in online learning contexts.
