The purpose of the present study is to investigate the required sample size and the number of data collection time points for fitting a latent growth model on Letter Sound Fluency (LSF) measures among at-risk kindergarten students. We conduct power analyses with simulation data to answer this question. With limited financial resources, it is very valuable to know whether it is more efficient to collect more measurements per students or a larger number of students with fewer measurements.
