Supporting Participatory Teacher Learning: A Framework for Professional Learning Network Enrichment

Abstract

Many educators today improve in their craft in part thanks to their professional learning networks (PLNs). PLNs are uniquely personalized networks which support learning that is participatory and continuous. Building and enhancing one’s PLN can, however, be challenging, as there is no one formula that will work best in all contexts. To support educators in the development of their PLNs, we offer in this proposal an empirically-based PLN Enrichment Framework. Rooted in our research and experiences with PLNs, this flexible framework is meant to help educators reflect upon how they might continuously improve the experiences and outcomes of their PLN activities.
