This study examined the differences in participation quantity and quality and health-related outcomes among groups of sport club participants, as well as the respective associations between the two variable sets as a function of sex and freshman status. Participants included 146 sport club members who completed an online survey assessing their recreation center visits, sport club memberships and satisfaction, height and weight, grade point average (GPA), and subjective vitality. Results showed that participation quantity and quality were positively associated with health-related outcomes in general. Sport club satisfaction and GPA were the most important corresponding contributors to the multivariate relationships. MANOVA and canonical correlation analyses by sex and freshman status revealed group differences in the magnitudes and associations of study variables.
