Sun, April 30, 4:05 to 6:05pm, Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Floor: Fourth Floor, Texas Ballroom Salon D

Abstract

In this study, we validated the Pre-Service Data Driven Decision-Making Efficacy and Anxiety (3D-MEA) Inventory. The measure had previously been validated on practicing teachers and used to facilitate data-based professional development with teachers, but had not been validated on pre-service teachers. The inventory may serve to help us better understand future teachers and where they are with regard to how they feel about data.
Principal-Axis Factoring with an oblique rotation was used to investigate the latent constructs. The two resultant scales are the Pre-Service DDDM Efficacy Scale (12-items) and the Pre-Service DDDM Anxiety Scale (5-items). The two scales were deemed reliable and valid, an they were also significantly, negatively correlated (r = -0.16, p < .01).
