Democracy From the Margins: Dewey, Critical Epistemology, and Public Schooling

Abstract

In this paper I will explore what Dewey can offer the development of a critical epistemology and then I will apply this work to education, particularly to public schools in socioeconomically marginalized areas. In particular, I will work to blend his more explicitly epistemological work with his democratic theory.
