The purpose of this study was to identify potential equity gaps in using library online resources, and to explore the connections between library use and student success measured by GPA, one-term retention, and academic standing at a small teaching college. Utilizing 3530 students’ EZProxy log activity and matching that to institutional data, the study indicated that no significant equity gaps existed in library use by gender, ethnicity, and first-generation status, while discrepancies were identified in library use by age, Pell recipient status, major, academic level, and semester GPA. The amount of library use was found a significant predictor of semester GPA, one-term retention, and academic standing after controlling for high school GPA, gender, first-generation status, and Pell recipient status.
