This research study is based on a collective biography project among four colleagues who engage in remembering and (re)narrating their experiences of socialist childhood to explore the diverse processes of being, belonging, and becoming as children in (post)socialist contexts. It seeks to further exemplify the geopolitical diversity and the variety of socialist and (post)socialist imaginaries, conditions, and paths of the post-socialist region. Furthermore, this research project has the explicit political agenda of giving back the power to post-socialist researchers to study their own conditions through methodologies, such as collective biography, that encourage anti-essentialist and diverse research approaches, multiple articulations and representations to make research differently political.
