Providing quality education in juvenile corrections poses unique challenges related to the setting, students, and personnel. The current research on PD for secondary educators merely provides a starting point for researchers of juvenile corrections education. The purpose of this study was to gain an in-depth understanding of how one teacher understands her experiences with professional learning opportunities and carrying out reading instruction in the JC school setting.
