Abstract

There are common sense understandings of intersectionality, queerness and youth that this presentation seeks to examine. Intersectionality has become a concept that appears in many scholarly works and is often accepted as a singular analytical concept. One that just as often fails to be explicitly in evidence in data analysis. How might looking at identity through the exemplar of queer, trans and non-binary youth. This presentation will explore ways to trouble the ease with which researchers speak of the spaces of race and class, sexualities and ethnicities as if we know what it means to say that race and sexuality or race and gender intersect.
