Reexamining the Association Between Part-Time Faculty Employment and Institutional Graduation at Community Colleges

Thu, April 27, 4:05 to 6:05pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: River Level, Room 6B

Abstract

The increasing presence of part-time faculty at institutions of higher education calls for rigorous investigation on the relationship between part-time faculty employment and institutional graduation rate at two-year community colleges. In this study, we utilized linear growth modeling and longitudinal data from IPEDS to examine such relationship. Preliminary results indicated that part-time faculty is not significantly associated with institutional graduation rate at public two-year community colleges.
