This multi-case study of teacher morale examines Linda Evans’ notion of teacher morale through the lens of adaptive expertise theories of teacher development and professionalism and the literature on the effects of neoliberal educational policies on school culture and teacher work. The primary data collection for the study involved interviews (n=44) and field notes on teacher work across three schools sites selected to represent variation in policy context and professional culture. The findings from this study will be used to inform policy within the regional research alliance with a focus on recommendations that can be implemented at the school division and school building levels.
