Developing Rubrics of Interactive Open Education Resources for Teaching Science to All

Sun, April 30, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Street Level, Stars at Night Ballroom 4

Abstract

This study is designed to develop rubrics for selecting the interactive OERs that include interactive educational resources appropriate to teach science to all. Fifty science teacher candidates from an online teacher license program are asked with a first version of rubric to develop a list of the interactive OER that successfully fits to their teaching. The effects of using the interactive OERs on their teaching science are measured and the rubric is updated through a survey with the teacher candidates at the end of the study. With the final version of the interactive OERs, the teacher candidates enable to teach science lessons facilitating the environment where the teachers and all of their students are interactive.
