Initial Development and Testing of a Professional Identity Scale in Graduate Education

Abstract

Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to validate the factorial structure of a new professional identity instrument. Data were collected from participants from a wide range of profession (N=235). Results suggest that a three-factor model of professional identity fit the data well and could be combined into a second-order factor.
