This study investigated the relationships of parent empowerment and parent networks to the children academic performance among Asian immigrant parents. The national representative sample of 317 Asian immigrant parents from the Parent and Family Involvement Survey of the National Household Education Survey (2007) was analyzed by a multi-nominal logistic regression analysis and path analysis. Parent networks and parent empowerment (e.g., competence, contact with school counselors) were significant to the academic performance. The findings suggest the importance of culturally responsive strategies for educators and school staff to engage Asian immigrant parents in their children’s education.
