Sun, April 30, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Hemisfair Ballroom 1

Abstract

Online learning—where instruction is provided primarily using Internet technologies. Online learning in K-12 education has enjoyed incredible growth, with all 50 states and the District of Columbia offering online learning at the beginning of the current decade (Evergreen Group, 2015). Students receiving special education services are part of this growing number, with an estimated 1 in 10 online learners having a disability (Molnar, et. al. 2013). In order to learn more about students with disabilities, it is important to find out about the professional development opportunities offered to these teachers. In an online teaching context, online teacher professional development (oTPD) is a way in which teachers from various parts of a state or region can all participate.
