The aims of current study were to identify latent classes of children based on their scores on pretest baseline and posttest measures of social skills and to determine the stability and change of class membership resulting from the SSIS-CIP intervention using latent transition analyses. Preliminary results suggest that students classified to high-performance class at pretest tend to remain in the same class at posttest. Among those classified to middle and low-performance classes at pretest, compared to control group students, a considerably larger proportion of SSIS-CIP students moved to higher level classes at posttest and a smaller proportion demoted to the lower-level classes. The prediction of social skills profile and transitions over time can inform adaptive interventions.
