A Longitudinal Study of Middle School Students' Creativity

Abstract

This study, relying on a longitudinal design which tracks middle school students’ creativity skills over a 3-year window, examines the psychometric properties of the three subscales used to assess creativity. The longitudinal nature of the design also allows the authors to investigate the relationship between creativity and student’s academic achievement and life satisfaction. Findings review that the creativity subscales are reliable but distinct measures. Teacher-rated creativity is shown to be positively related to students’ achievement.
