Abstract

This presentation will report on a national study of teacher educators that asked about personal and programmatic approaches to technology preparation. To determine the practices of teacher educators relating to technology, we sent out a national survey, which resulted in 853 responses representing every US state. Through a series of questions the survey explores a range of programmatic approaches from standalone courses to embedded technology instruction across the curriculum. Our findings indicate that many accredited programs still consider technology a separate topic that is often decontextualized from the learning outcomes of K-12 students.
