Many educators are ill-equipped to notice and address inequities that exist in their schools. Equity audits are a tool with the potential to help identify disparities, uncover the causes, and take action to remedy them. In this study, we interviewed teachers a year after they completed an equity audit project within their schools to understand what happened during the year after they proposed action plans to address areas of inequity. Preliminary analysis suggests that teachers valued gathering new kinds of data and viewed data as a powerful tool to reveal inequitable conditions; most teachers did not implement formal action plans in totality, but did take action in other ways; and teachers took leadership roles and collaborated with others.
