On any given day, many schools find themselves stretched to meet the academic, socio-emotional and physical needs of their student population, many of whom, facing a number of in-school and out-of-school risks factors have been labeled as “at risk”. This study looks at how an ecological partnership, operating across three community organizations (a local school, community center and faith-based organization), leverages each organizational space to afford a cohort of 6th-8th grade students, facing multiple risk factors, a network of supports to counter their at-risk identity.
