Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and interpret the interpersonal dynamics that lead to high academic achievement of diverse learners in Urban settings. For this study, the work of Marcia (1993) regarding Leadership Persona Theory, Fiedler’s (1960) Contingency Theory, and Bass’ (1985) Transformational Leadership Theory are all germane in combination to guide this work. A search on leadership literature reveals a series of perspectives initiated from the “Great Man” and “Trait” theories, evolving to “Transformational” leadership.
