When populations of both local and international teacher candidates need to respond for calls to social justice and responsiveness to community, we questioned how might we as teacher educators and researchers leverage internationalization/ globalization of educational resources to prepare future teachers to address these issues locally and globally. We present a critical self examination of our design of pre-service teachers experiences through the texts they produce in our TESOL education program. Our goal is to examine these texts as a way to rethink our program’s orientation to develop more productive relationships with partnering schools and local communities in reaching social justice goals.
