This paper explores the nature of a federal intervention into teacher education and the ways in which the field is positioned as a problem to economic ends of education. The authors examined the sixteen comprehensive educator equity plans that were approved by the USDOE in 2015. Through this project, we hope to surface how federal policies work to frame equity as economic and teacher education as negligent in pursuing the economic as the sole purpose for education.
