Abstract

This paper reports a critical ethnography on the living experiences of Indigenous and African-descendant students in a Foreign Languages’ Program (FLP) at a public university in Colombia. The study has two goals: First, as a critical ethnography, it documents the conditions and challenges that these students have to face, deal, and cope with to succeed in the FLP. Second, it leverages the insights from the participants of this study to create a policy document regarding the special educational and cultural needs of these populations.
