The proposed paper, Black Youth Activism in an Age of #BlackLivesMatter, reports baseline data elucidating an interplay between the: a) racial identity and b) civic engagement attitudes and behaviors of adolescent Black youth. Black youth ages 12-15 (n=38) responded to a 22 item online (Qualtrics) questionnaire. As predicted relatively strong interplay between racial identity and positive civic engagement attitudes and behaviors was observed. The findings have important implications for creating pathways for positive adolescent Black youth development.
