The discussion of immigrant experiences, culture, (dis)ability studies, education and religion has multiple layers. This theoretical study examines how Iranian-American mothers’ understanding of their children is influenced by their religious beliefs, culture and the dominant narrative of (dis)ability. A greater understanding and knowledge of the intersection of how immigration, culture and faith influence mothers’ perspectives on (dis)ability will contribute to the action required which contributes to the promise of equal educational opportunity for Iranian-American individuals with (dis)abilities.
