Abstract

This paper examines how college women experience and perform body image ideals in two popular films. Demonstrating how those ideals promote or proscribe acceptance, belonging, and within-group status, Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect II emerge as an allegory for body politics in college student cultures and American society.
