Navigating Alternative Possibilities: Experiences of Undocumented Latina/o College Graduates

Abstract

This study examines the experiences of undocumented Latina/o college graduates. Specifically, the study explores the experiences of students that left the United States in search of educational and career opportunities. Utilizing a Latino Critical Theory Framework this study challenges forms of racism that exist through immigrant policies and laws that continue to limit the opportunities of undocumented students. The study employs a case study of three undocumented Latino/a college graduates who left the United States before the implementation of DACA. This work has important implications for educational practitioners and policy makers interested in broadening post-baccalaureate and career access for this student population.
