This study investigates the impact of the locus of control in regards to the effects of student outcomes. The multidimensional locus of control scale was used for this particular study. Specifically, the examination of non-cognitive factors. In addition we propose that the internal locus of control and the external locus of control have varying degrees of impact on the students overall success rate. We examined the proposed internal locus of control and external locus of control in a sample of 63 college students in the southern part of the United States of America. The findings suggest that gender is also factors as females tend to have a higher internal locus of control.
