Rodolfo Kusch: Curriculum of Indigenous Thought From Argentina

Sat, April 29, 8:15 to 10:15am, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 214 B

Abstract

This panelist, from Argentina, is a former student in Soka University, who now works with Participant 5, will connect Argentine educator, Rodolfo Kusch (1922-1979), with Makiguchi, Toda, and Ikeda. He may also connect John Dewey to the emergent conversation or draw upon the work of David Hansen (2007) on several other educators who offer alternative ethical visions and practices of curriculum. [Note: the nature of this Session is largely to engage in interactive dialogue. AERA encourages innovative sessions, but the structure of proposal presentation does not facilitate innovation, such as a panel, wherein participants will doubtless come to new observations, questions, and imaginative considerations derived from their work. Hence, the lack of size of presentation depiction does not mean that there is lack of preparation among participants. It means that substantial preparation of all involved should result in worthwhile surprises evoked by the session and with the audience.]
