Abstract

This study examines the nature of principals’ work in an effort to support principals in their role. With the ultimate goal of providing a more realistic picture of what they actually do, this paper examines how school principals understand and approach their work. It also explores the motives and external factors influencing their choices, and describe the challenges and possibilities their work presents to them.
