Session Type: Symposium
Aligned with the conference theme, Knowledge to Action: Achieving the Promise of Equal Educational Opportunity, this interactive symposium explores how instructional practices and experiences among diversity course instructors can inform content and structure of diversity courses. Because diversity courses can play an important role in student social and academic development, this session focuses on two issues: 1) the role of racial identity in altering teaching and learning in diversity courses, and 2) how students apply diversity course content beyond the classroom.
