Session Type: Symposium
This symposium will highlight different pedagogical and scholarly approaches to promoting gender justice through education that are at the forefront of progressive, radical and activist struggle today in larger social movements – and interpersonal, classroom and community engagements – against patriarchy, misogyny and homophobia. Specifically highlighted will be lived, empirical, qualitative efforts to engage across gender and sexual identities in multiple contexts. These lived realities will then be theorized in juxtaposition to oppressive hegemonic structures.
