Session Type: Symposium
Recent globalization movements and neoliberal policies have illuminated educational dilemmas with on the one hand, curriculum aims and ideals from cosmopolitanism / increasing multiculturalism and, on the other hand, new governance structures, recentralization, and educational leadership. Two forms regarding how education has developed with respect to global dimensions (cosmopolitanism in educational ideals/curriculum and governance) should be treated in connection to, and not disparate, from each other; however, educational leadership studies and curriculum theory/Didaktik have yet to make these connections explicit. This symposium bridges curriculum theory and educational leadership studies for more equitable opportunities in the contemporary situation.
