Abstract

This symposium describes the work of scholars who do research on and within queer subjectivities. The papers discuss the implications of doing research at the intersections of sexuality, race, gender, time and place. As research on the lives of queer and trans youth, namely those of color, are increasingly becoming subjects of interest and study; the papers address the following question: How do we begin to develop new research paradigms that capture the nuances of queer youth research? This panel contributes to queer methodological practice by offering views and perspectives on the process of doing queer research and negotiations involved within the qualitative research process.
