56.017 - Intersections of Race, Color, Language, and Gender: Investigating Dialogue, Access, and Opportunity in Cuba

Abstract

Given the limited research on issues of race and education in Cuba, this symposium aims to articulate findings from investigations conducted in Cuba in the spring of 2016. The studies highlight definitions and intersections of race, color, gender, and internationalization, including similarities and differences between the U.S. and Cuba. Additionally researchers capture the opportunities and barriers to dialogue, access, and education in Cuba for practitioners, researchers and students.
