66.023 - Using Research-Practice Partnerships to Improve Student Success in College and Career: Three District and State Partnerships Share Challenges and Successes

Mon, May 1, 8:15 to 9:45am, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: River Level, Room 7B

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This symposium examines college-going outcomes and supports across several research-practice partnerships (RPPs). The RPPs represent diverse geographic regions, examine a range of demographic populations, and utilize both administrative and non-administrative data sets. By looking at college-going patterns and supports in a range of contexts, this session highlights the variety of approaches partnerships use to shed light on the critical issue of preparing students for college entrance and success. By incorporating strategies that partnerships use to increase use of findings and implications, and by integrating practitioner voices in the papers and as one of the discussants, this session also contributes to the literature on research use and the growing field of applied research partnership work.
